Accuracy lacking
I do like Griff asan author but he has made a number of annoying mistakes in this book. Gas was not used until April 1915, during which Canadian troops urinated on handkerchiefs as the only way of protecting themselves from the chlorine gas. Also troops were not issued with spare magazines. Ammunition was issued in bandoliers of 50 or 100 rounds. A loading clip held a clip of 5 rounds which could quickly be loaded into the 10-round magazine. A well trained infantry soldier could fire 20+ rounds per minute, including re-loading.
