Sweet
It took a few chapters for me to get into this book, and I didn’t fully get the female lead, but this a sweet tale. I think more on their childhood would have helped because I didn’t understand why Tom being perfect was such a big thing for him, resulting in his freaky moment.
Still, worth it but not up to The Hating Game’s calibre
Ending let’s it down
I don’t often write reviews but I feel I should with this one.
The beginning was so hard to get in to. I really didn’t connect with Darcy for a long time. It probably took 6-8 chapters before I thought “ok, she’s not that bad”. The middle was a lot better and after a while I really started to enjoy it. Then all of a sudden it started to not really go anywhere. Then it ends! Just .... meh!
I was so disappointed in the ending and frustrated. Darcy’s heart condition seemed to be just added in there for the hell of it, the twin thing wasn’t built on enough and they just came across as spoilt brats.
Tbh save your money. The hating game was really good and thoroughly enjoyable. This one felt overly rushed and the writer was obviously just under pressure to produce a second book. Shame really.
Boring
Sorry but this was boring. The author’s first book The Hating Game, while predictable, was at least enjoyable. Please let your heroines have a little bit of substance and less horny! While Lucy was adorable, Darcy in this book had really nothing going for her.
