A Cathedral Courtship

Aunt Celia’s respectable Boston bag bursts open on the flagstones of Winchester Cathedral, scattering cloves, dental floss—and a disreputable novel at the feet of a handsome young sketcher. Katharine Schuyler would rather never see him again; the look he gives her suggests she may not get her wish.

In 1891, Katharine and her formidable Aunt Celia are touring England’s cathedral towns by an itinerary too sacred to question. Katharine would prefer a little freedom—and perhaps the company of a charming shipboard friend—but Winchester has its own surprises: a resonant cathedral, an awkward first encounter, and Jack Copley, an architect with a sketchbook and impeccable manners. As Aunt Celia steers her niece toward solemnity, Katharine’s irreverent eye keeps finding the comedy in sacred places and respectable people. What will happen when the cathedral towns bring Katharine and Jack together again?
