Publisher Description
These are postmodern short stories peppered with sardonic humor with punches of seriousness. After witnessing a public nervous breakdown of his nun teacher at the local Catholic school, little Joey has to spend the week with his aging neighbor the oddball Ms. Perish. She adopts cats from various animal shelters but they are not to be found anywhere near her. She might be a witch but she isn't vegetarian. Another story reveals a sweet young girl that dismembers dolls and gets revenge on her enemies. The Little Drunks is a short memoir about what happens to a bunch of dizzy kids when their parents go out to a disco and leave them all alone. A ghastly story portrays two best friends, both teenagers, but one exists as a witch in historical Europe and the other is a gay boy in modern day Canada. They fight over the same person even though they exist in two different time periods. Their fight involves an attempted drowning, the French Revolution, and spiritual possessions. The adults are just a bunch of neurotics.
