Ashton:
I'm barely holding on. I'm always on the edge, even after all these years. I live every day the same, and I can't change who I am… no matter how much I try. My new neighbor won't stop asking my name and trying to make conversation with me. If he knew me, he wouldn't keep trying. I'm just a lost cause.
Lincoln:
My neighbor… She's mysterious, hiding behind sunglasses that cover most of her face. I ask her name and try to get her to talk on the rare occasions I see her in the hallway, but she ignores me, turning away every time. I need to know more about this woman; I can't get her out of my head.
Bonus scenes included.
Warning: Some people might consider this a Dark Romance. Recommended for 18+ due to graphic details and language.

Beautiful
Lincoln is one determined man. He wants to get to know his new neighbour, and nothing is going to stop him. Ashton tries her best to ignore Lincoln and scare him off, but she's not having much luck. Ashton is different, she's broken, she hides away behind her clothes and sunglasses and her apartment door. She's been through so much and hasn't let herself heal. She's surviving, barely, and now Lincoln comes and turns her orderly life upside down.
Lincoln is a brilliant character nothing seems to phase him, and he always finds the good in everything. My heart broke for Ashton I really did feel her pain.
This is a story of surviving the worst imaginable things and healing, and learning to live again. Ashton's story is so very sad, but Lincoln brings her a new positive outlook. One she's been needing for so very long.
It took me a while to get into the story at first, but once I did I didn't want to stop reading I just needed to know more.
Five stars from me.
