Armentrout subtly hints at what a complex, caring soul Cas is underneath it all, and we loved seeing Poppy and Cas set aside their many differences…especially when things got steamy between them. Oh my GOSH
Better than the first book, I am utterly obsessed. This kind of book isn’t my usual choice but I am so glad I did chose it. I couldn’t put this down!
Interesting story just not told in the best way.
Honestly I really like the characters and the story it’s the only thing that made me keep reading because it does get you invested. But god is this story bogged down in excessive exposition and bad pacing.
The author has a habit of revealing a new piece of information and spending the next 4 chapters making the same point over and over again. Whenever it seems like the story is finally picking up momentum we just go right back to excessively long scenes of character conversations that are just exposition or talking about the same thing they already talked about 5 times.
Great story but some weird bits
Generally enjoyed apart from the final carriage scene after the battle - who in their right mind is even close to thinking about doing that after being in a battle?! Really felt uneccesary after what was a good story for the most part
