Publisher Description

Introduction A study to review current practice of mentoring newly qualified operating department practitioners (ODPs) within a large National Health Service (NHS) teaching hospital was undertaken in 2007. The aim of the study was to examine the educational support offered to this group in the first months of employment and to provide a rationale for a standard approach to the mentoring of this group of staff. The review aimed to identify areas for potential improvement to ensure a smooth transition from student to qualified ODP.
