APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
Emma Jane Unsworth’s third novel is a brilliant portrait of a very modern condition: living your best life on social media while downing in reality. Jenny is magazine columnist, struggling to maintain appearances when her photographer boyfriend leaves, her neglectful mother reappears and the effects of a recent tragedy begin to ripple. Anyone who’s read Unsworth’s excellent Animals will be familiar with her hilarious dialogue and sympathy for the pressures and expectations placed on women in their 30s. Here, the two drive a fast and furiously funny story of self-care, self-acceptance and self-respect.

Never read anything which could merge so successfully creative writing, screenwriting, texting and even letter drafts.
To comment on the content or plot of this book is a spoiling exercise. It needs to be read. What stands out most of all is that no learning tool would be able to teach what this author is able to create. The humour, the anguish, the hearth-full truth delivered without apologies can only be a natural talent.
