A retired spy still sees danger around every corner. Her brainy houseguest - not so much.

Nerdy city slicker Violet Blackheart had been hoping for some fun - and maybe even a little sun - after returning to Beaver Island for another summer sojourn, but when a plane carrying the island's friendliest family almost crash-lands in front of her, it spins off a series of deadly events.

It doesn't take long for retired British Intelligence agent Irma Abercrombie to find herself grappling with a country club conga line gone wrong, a very suspicious disappearance, and making sure that Violet's return to Beaver Island is at least a little less murdery than last year. But after a board meeting leads to some highly unprofessional behaviour, Violet and Irma find themselves in the thick of another island investigation - and time's running out for them to catch a killer.
