All You Heroes

What will today bring? Oh the usual things-

the people walking, tethered to the ground

but exploding inside in winged feathered flight

or burrowing a thousand miles below

into liquid rock, molten emotion of soul.

-William Guy, from "Things of Today"

All You Heroes, William Guy's first collection of poems, dives headlong into the great mystery of what it means to be human.

Gathering inspiration from things living and mythical-from birds to mites to the spirit of the forest-and led by the primal endeavor to connect, the poems explore the numinous intricacies of life.

Fans of David Whyte, Mary Oliver, Ross Gay, Robin Wall Kimmerer, Wendell Berry, Rabindranath Tagore, and Gary Snyder will appreciate the depth and vitality of Willliam Guy's poems.
