Publisher Description
Gilbert Keith Chesterton (1874-1936) was an English writer, lay theologian, poet, philosopher, dramatist, journalist, orator, literary and art critic, biographer, and Christian apologist. Chesterton is well known for his fictional priest-detective “Father Brown” and for his reasoned apologetics. In 1896 Chesterton began working for the London publisher Redway, and T. Fisher Unwin, where he remained until 1902.
“Appreciations and Criticisms of the Works of Charles Dickens” is a book, which was originally published as prefaces to the separate books of Dickens in one of the most extensive of those cheap libraries of the classics which are one of the real improvements of recent times. A classic example of Chesterton's style, this book is a real treasure! Enjoy the reading!
