A great series
Awakened by Anna Applegate is the second book in her Ariya Adams trilogy. As compelling as the first this series is certainly ramping up to be a brilliant read.
Ariya is still trying to wrap her head around all she has learned - about the supernatural world, about vampires and werewolves, about herself. She is also trying to stay out of harms way, but given just how much everyone wants her this is easier said than done.
But with James there to protect her surely nothing at all could go wrong, right? When a new evil force rises and comes for her she starts to question just how safe she is. And when she finds herself fighting to save those she loves again Ariya night learn the hard way that she any always protect everyone, sometimes some people can’t be saved.
I really enjoyed delving back into this world. He continuation of the series has been well done. The story was just as intriguing and kept me reading to the end. The characters held all of the same allure for me as the first book - something which can be hard to do when you are revisiting the same characters. I am excited to see how this trilogy will conclude.
