Claire Wright likes to play other people.
A British drama student, in New York without a green card, Claire takes the only job she can get: working for a firm of divorce lawyers, posing as an easy pick-up in hotel bars to entrap straying husbands.
When one of her targets becomes the subject of a murder investigation, the police ask Claire to use her acting skills to help lure their suspect into a confession. But right from the start, she has doubts about the part she's being asked to play. Is Patrick Fogler really a killer . . . Or the only decent husband she's ever met? And is there more to this set-up than she's being told?
And that's when Claire realises she's playing the deadliest role of her life . . .

APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
Some books are meant to be devoured in one sitting. JP Delaney’s follow-up to The Girl Before (also highly recommended) is the sort of psychological thriller that immediately lures you into its web and won’t relinquish until its final, devastating twist. At the heart of Believe Me is Claire Wright: a brilliantly unreliable (or is she?) narrator. She’s a British drama student employed by a New York law firm to entrap cheating husbands, and soon her abilities are called on by the police to draw a confession from their chief suspect in a murder case. Soon, Delaney has your head spinning as you’re unsure who to trust… Claire? The suspect? Your own instincts?

Awful. A really weird style where a two sentence conversation takes a whole page
Didn’t enjoy this at all. The way conversations where formatted didn’t allow the narrative to flow.
WOW this is an incredible read
I can tell you I’ve read half the book in less than half an hour. That’s how GOOD it is. It’s captivating, enticing and a great psychothriller. If I didn’t wake up at 5 am every morning, I’d finish the book tonight. But WOW. One of my new favourite thrillers. A must read!!!
This is the first book I’ve picked up and finished in 6 years. Love the way you don’t know where it’s going. Very enticing and just when you think they story has finished it throws the best twist in. 100% recommend.
