Publisher Description
Small, blonde, bubbly, and with a penchant for all things pink, Julia Melville has always considered herself a nice girl – until she was attacked by a werewolf. Months later, and still in total denial, Julia spends the time between full moons fantasizing that her life is normal. And who could be better to help her with that than her new neighbor, handsome accountant, Sebastian Crane.
For two hundred years, Sebastian, a powerful warlock, has been possessed by a demon. Each day, his soul grows darker, and he knows that soon he will be beyond salvation. But the demon loves to gamble, and he's made Bastian one final bet—get a good woman to say the words "I love you" and he'll be free.
Julia wants a normal guy. Bastian needs a good woman. Maybe together they can find something far more valuable…redemption.

Paranormal Realness
Nina Croft has succeeded in crafting a very real romance into a paranormal world. The characters are believable and more importantly ... they're relatable; their afflictions, easily analogous to the secrets and motives 'normal' people keep from each other. A reader has no difficulty immersing themselves into the story.
Nina's northern charm certainly comes out in her writing, adding to this realness. The language isn't heavy or sophisticated and therefore aptly suited to the book's tongue-in-cheek style. However, there were a few jarring parts, such as over repetition of certain phrases or the word of choice for Julia's parts but hey, not everybody likes the C word!
The story is light and fast paced and the reader is left sated yet wanting more. Maybe this is Nina's intentions ... very Bastion indeed. There was certainly enough raunch, though, there could have been afforded another 'fight' or two. Maybe this will be saved for a sequel.
It absolutely can be read as a standalone but, should this be your first, you'd be pleased to know there are plenty more prequels to get your teeth into.
Want some fun, some raunch, something paranormal yet surprisingly real? Buy the book; it's ideal for a long journey or a few naughty nights in!
