Birds In Words: Poems

The 27 poems on these pages are an attempt to capture something of the character and nature of Australia’s birdlife. Australia has such a wealth of wildlife, and none so much as the birds. Australia is awash with birds. You can’t escape their colour or their sound or their physical presence. They are everywhere.
Birds include the Rainbow Lorikeet, Pelican, Dotterels, the elusive Australian Bustard, Black Kites, the Cockatoo, and many more.
