The incredible latest novel in the most visceral, action-packed series around sees the assassin Victor fighting enemies on all sides, with no allies in sight.
To make amends for past mistakes, the enigmatic assassin known only as Victor is now in servitude to the world's most dangerous criminal enterprise, the Russian Mafia. Although a hired gun without loyalties, Victor never picks a fight he cannot win so he intends to pay off his debt, however long it takes.
Yet when his new employer is shot dead in London, Victor has both the means and the motive to make him the most likely suspect. With a turf war breaking out in the power vacuum, and enemies on all sides, either Victor discovers who the real murderer is or suffer the full wrath of the Mafia's vengeance.

Brliiant, charismatic and thrillingly violent !
I must say this is easily one of my favourite Victor books.
I can really see the development in Victors character coming through with this latest addition to the series. He’s now bordering on James Bond charm and humour as-well as being as brutal, merciless and as unforgiving as ever.
The story holds up well throughout and reads as such. There are plenty of ‘underestimating’, back against the wall scenarios with Victor getting himself out of impossible and incomparble situations which shock and awe his adversaries against all the odds. These are always my favourite type of scenes because he plays the unassuming man so well until he doesn’t !
If you haven’t read any of the Victor series start at the beginning with book 1 The Hunter to truly understand the development of the character and familiarise yourself with past mention of names and events that n the current book. How we the book will ready well as a stand alone albeit not knowing some of the references to previous books
10/10. Thank you Tom Wood.
