May 1985: In her boss’s continued absence, fledgling librarian Meg Booker finally has Fir Grove Library running like a well-oiled machine. After solving a murder, she can deal with BMX bikers on the library steps, loud boom boxes at the study tables, and discarded lunch bags dumped into the book drop—without even mussing her feathered hair. 

 

But greed and jealousy still lurk under the surface in her peaceful, forested Portland, Oregon neighborhood. When a valuable item is stolen during a gathering of coin and currency enthusiasts, Meg’s library turns into a crime scene—again—with accusations flying between two prominent coin collectors. This time, Meg is determined to let the police handle things; she’s a librarian, not a detective. That is, until a body shows up in the library’s book drop—and the police decide Meg is their prime suspect. 

 

Once more, Meg is forced to take matters into her own hands. Marshaling her book club, her flaky actor brother, and her indomitable “Aunt” Dorothy, she puts her mad research skills and natural sleuthing ability to work finding the true killer before more patrons are dropped dead—into her library.
