Chambery, France: The Gem of the French Alps is a guidebook about the capital of Savoie (Savoy) in the French Alps. The city is not well known to tourists yet has a beautiful historic center, a long interesting history and was the seat of the Duches of Savoie for centuries. A little known fact is that the Shroud of Turn spent 70 years in Chambery.
