Publisher Description
Lady Catherine Langdon is special, and not because she's the daughter of a duke. She comes from a long line of individuals born with extraordinary gifts, and she is one of the few that has a variation of all three. On the brink of war she makes a decision that will irrevocably alter the course of her life—love or duty.
Asher Rossington, the Marquess of Seabrook, decided at a very early age that he would not live an idle life. His father forbade him from being a spy for the crown, but he chose to ignore it. Ash never regretted his choice, but wished he could have repaired his relationship with his father before he died. Now with the fate of the world in turmoil he has to make another hard decision—remain a spy for king and country, or go home and honor his father's title.
The Great War brings Catherine and Asher into each other's lives. Only time will tell if their destiny is to be together, or if they will ultimately serve a higher purpose.

An engaging read
I don’t usually read about this era or stories about the First World War, however I found this story to be engaging. Catherine and Ash were likeable characters and their relationship developed from friendship. This story was mainly set in France and their time spent together was limited due to the war. Catherine has visions that can cause her to worry about Ash. There are a number of dangerous situations and heartbreaking moments. I received a copy via Booksprout and have voluntarily reviewed it. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Well worth the read!
I don;t know how she does it? I have fallen in love with another two characters! This is set in a more recent historical setting than I usually read. It's in the early 20th century The Great War. Catherine, with her mystical family legacies and Asher, Lord Seabrook; Spy, met in Paris just before the start of the war. Thrown apart the war but involved in it in their own special ways, they long for each other. The horrors of war bringing their emotions and true feelings for each other to the fore, their paths keep crossing. They both know they wish to be together but the war keeps testing them and ripping them apart. This is a strong and heartfelt tale of hardship and sorrow through a difficult time. I thoroughly enjoyed this book! I couldn't put it down. Well worth the read!
