When two teens suddenly disappear from the quiet, wooded town of Bradley without a trace and with no apparent connection between them, their loved ones back home are left with a mystery, and a sinister chain of events unfolds. The two missing teens are forced to rethink what they consider home and who they see as family, and what they are willing to do to get them back.

Accalia Keegan wants to go home, but she feels alone in the world with no family to return to and too big a secret to trust anyone. When a man comes out of the woodwork claiming to be Accalia's father, it isn't the heartfelt reunion that she hoped finding her family would be. Instead, kidnapped and taken to the cruel place her father calls home, Accalia is left with no power to leave, no place to run, and no choice but to trust a strange boy she has never met.

Thrust into a world where more people than ever know Accalia's secrets, she finds herself helpless against her father's will - should he come back for her - and dodging a self-entitled "hero" who will kill to keep her secrets from spreading any further.
