Fourteen years ago, high school track star Sydney Adams was gunned down in Philadelphia's Fairmount Park. The investigation yielded useless clues, and the case went cold. But homicide detective Augustus Knox never gave up on finding Sydney's killer. Now, retired from the police force and with only months to live, he enlists the help of private investigator Jocelyn Rush to clear the case once and for all.
Armed with little more than a theory as to who murdered Sydney, Jocelyn tries to lure a killer into the open. But unraveling the mystery means facing off against a cunning psychopath whose ruthlessness knows no bounds. When more bodies start to pile up, Jocelyn has to decide just how far she's willing to go to catch a cold-blooded killer.

Have read all the Josie Quinn novels (loved) them. Then found this one, really enjoyed the story in fact, couldn’t put it down, highly recommended.
Ticks boxes of twisted suspense almost too well!
This is one of those books that just ticked the boxes of suspense, of twisted, everything. It gave enough of the personal lives of every person, to make you interested and keep you that way. I loved it from the first page.
If you enjoy twisted thrillers, murder mystery, with detail that gives you clues as to the characters personalities this is the book for you.
I loved the flawed character of Augustus Knox, who although he's extremely flawed, but terminally ill, an alcoholic and determined to solve this case before he dies. He has neglected his own family for so long and this is his dying wish. He is certain he knows who the murderer is. His determination to solve this for the sake of the dead girls family, knowing he has lost his own, presses the pity button not just in the PI in the story, but in anyone who reads the story.
This is one of those books you should not miss. It says so much about people and their lives behind the daily mask they put on.
Did I say I LOVE this book? No? I love this book and must read more.
