Condition of the Heart

Grumpy surgeon. Small-town paramedic. One storm that could cost them everything, or give them a chance at forever

A hotshot Miami surgeon with a six-month sentence in hell finds his exit plan threatened by a woman who is everything he's running from. Dr. Liam Harrison is just passing through Prospect Creek, Alaska. This frozen, forgotten town is a necessary evil, a final stepping stone to the prestigious trauma fellowship that will silence the ghosts of his past. His strategy: keep his head down, his heart locked, and his eyes on the departure date.

But he didn't plan on Olivia Campbell. The town's fierce, infuriatingly competent paramedic sees him as a threat, a temporary affliction her community must endure. When a once in a century blizzard traps them together, forcing them to fight for a patient's life in the most remote, under-resourced clinic imaginable, their professional animosity ignites a dangerous, undeniable heat.

He came to Alaska for his ambition. She is the soul of this town's commitment. When his perfect future comes calling, will he be able to walk away from the only woman who makes him feel whole?
