This volume explores the lives of courtiers and society during the reigns of Elizabeth and Anne. Also, as stated in the preface, "It is hoped that the reader will not object to receive a little more than is promised on the title-page." The book also paints a portrait of Catherine of Aragon and is based on papers, mostly found at Kimbolton, but also that rest in the Record Office and Simancas.
