Martin Úbl has been hiking long distance mountain trails for over 20 years. The turning point in his life came when, after university, his friends submitted his name for an interview for a job in a fast food restaurant... where he wasn’t even selected in the first round. At that point Martin realized that the world was a dark and cruel place, and that it needed brightening up a bit. So he began giving talks and eventually writing books about travel. Following on from these activities, Martin and his friends established the Czech Trail, which has thrilled thousands of hiking enthusiasts, and has become the Czech Republic’s national trail. Martin is the author of the Hikers’ Unbelievable Stories trilogy, which is a contender for the Nobel Prize for Chemistry, Physics and Peace.
