Daimon is ice. His heart is frozen by it. His body caged by it. And he likes it that way. But the sexy sorceress that storms into his life and declares herself a part of his team in his battle against the daemon uprising is determined to melt the ice that has shielded him for centuries, and he’s powerless to stop the burning need she ignites in him.
Even when he’s sure it’s only a game to her.
Cassandra has a sword hanging over her, a duty she has no choice but to perform and one she’s been putting off for years. Her latest excuse? Helping a band of immortal brothers with a war that might mean the end of this world if they fail. Her delaying the inevitable has nothing to do with the gorgeous Greek god who keeps rebuffing her and everything to do with saving the world. He’s a nice distraction and nothing more. She keeps telling herself that.
Even when she’s sure he’s a danger to her heart.
As things heat up in the battle to save the mortal world and the Underworld, will Daimon’s icy heart be able to withstand the fiery witch who can scorch him with just a look?

Felicity did not disappoint
I’ve been looking forward to this particular instalment of Felicity’s Guardians of Hades series for a good while now and she definitely did not disappoint when it came to Daimon’s story!
Gods, my heart was pulled all roads with the read. I felt for our hero so much but lordy, his stubbornness and determination that he had to be alone made me want to yell at him more than a few times.
We met Cassandra in Calisto’s book as she was Mari’s guardian of sorts. When we initially met her I wasn’t entirely sure whether she could or would work with the brothers as she seemed kinda wary of them and didn’t appear to have the best of opinions when it came to them all.... but book 6 sorted that issue and she came to be an important part of the group fighting to keep the realms the brothers are protecting apart.
Cass was one feisty, stubborn lady. She had such an attraction to Daimon even after her initial thoughts and found herself pulled towards him but she was holding on to a huge secret that would ultimately impact her life to degrees and meant she felt she couldn’t have something more with the god than a fling and some fun.
Melting Daimon’s heart was no easy task. His regrets and unwavering belief that he owed someone else his loyalty meant that he’d spent so very many years alone... compounded by his inability to touch anyone, but especially his brothers, due to his power it was quite something that his heart still felt so much for his family and he still had the ability to care as much as he did.
I liked the gradual building of trust, belief and need between our leads though it took them a while to get where they were destined to be.... the attraction between them was sizzling and the banter and push/pull made for great reading. When they finally started to listen to their hearts and not their heads they were perfect together!
The story arc of the battle to destroy the gates between Hell and Earth continued and we finally discovered one of the main players - gods, I knew there was a reason I always hated that particular character!!! The battles are growing fiercer, the enemy more brazen and it’s all building up for one helluva final battle in Keras’s book!
While it’ll be sad that the series is coming to an end I cannot wait for the eldest gods book and am itching to find out just what history he and his heroine have.
Daimon is another fab instalment in the series and a definite recommended read from me - and I just have to say here that I adored Cass’s cat 😉!!!!
