Publisher Description
Cara, a city girl from up north, has just moved to the small town of Fayette, Alabama with her family. Helping her adjust to the culture is a self-sufficient local boy named Bryant. As Cara and Bryant's relationship starts to deepen, the town begins to suffer from random outbreaks of extreme violence. As the inhabitants die and return as flesh-eating abominations, the young couple is on the run. No place is safe as they seek out other survivors in an attempt to stave off their own grisly deaths. Eventually, a small group fortifies a church in a desperate siege against an ever-growing army of walking dead.
Customer Reviews
Too slow to get anywhere
I am glad I tried the sample instead of buying this book outright as I often do; the 36 pages of the sample were mind numbingly boring. The authors lack of knowledge of computer technology was endearing for about 20 seconds before it started to bug me, and at no point during this dreary dross was I made to care about any of the cardboard cutout characters. With no indication of how the zombie action would start or how exciting/enjoyable it would be, I decided I didn't want to spend money to find out and deleted it. A shame, I wanted to like this book, but the author should absolutely have picked a more fast paced and exciting sliver of the whole with with to entice readers to part with their cash.
