Can a mind be made new?


When I was eighteen years old, poetry suddenly entered my life as an answer to prayers. I had been imploring a way to express an overflow of emotions during the cold, complex, and confusing season I was in. My mind seemed to be caught up in this perpetual cycle of which I could see no way out. Out of this time abruptly budded the fifty-five poems which fill this book.


Many artists view their creation of art as an escape. These collections of poetry cover my path to realizing my art is more than just an escape for me; in light of my true identity, my art is literally the art of escape.


There is a way out.
