Desistance

What is apparent to me young man is that...  Despite being given chance after chance, and despite on numerous   occasions being cautioned or  receiving other non-custodial disposals you have learned absolutely nothing.


So Jamie is in prison for the first time and totally ‘bricking it’. Not that he’d let on to anybody though.  After a while though it is getting easier.  Christmas is gone now and his trial date is coming up and...  “You know what?  He’d rather do a couple more months of this than some community shit or pay a fine...  Prison works!  Like fuck it does.


Follow Jamie through the last 17 years of being in and out of the Criminal Justice system and see how the decisions of those in power at any one time impact on the lives of those incarcerated.
