Digital Publishing: The Next Steps

2010 was the year digital publishing moved from an e-ink marketplace to a vibrant multitouch world of interaction.


Amazon, Sony, Barnes & Noble and Kobo held all the cards, with smartphones lacking credibility as reading devices. The arrival of Apple’s iPad changed all this.


Vibrant magazine content, interactive children’s books and incredible journeys into reference material heralded a new world of apps on the substantial digital realestate afforded by the iPad. The e-Book market also took off in a big way, helping to drive a wider acceptance of digital books.
