Publisher Description
When Gina Beaufort Kelly’s husband leaves her for a woman young enough to be his daughter, Gina doesn’t get mad… she gets even.
Or at least she tries to, by targeting David’s assets in the divorce. She spent eighteen years of her life with him; it’s only fair that he should compensate her accordingly.
However, David doesn’t agree, and when he ends up dead, on the evening before they were set to go before the judge, Homicide Detective Jaime Mendoza suspects foul play - and seems to think that Gina’s behind it.
Now this jilted trophy wife must figure out who else wanted her soon-to-be-ex-husband dead - and why - before she loses everything, including her freedom.

Good Engaging Story
I was given a copy of this book and asked to do a review.
This is not my usual genre of story as I prefer romance, however I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the book.
The story of a woman who has just reached her 40's and has been ditched by her husband for a younger model. Something he did to his first wife by marrying her so she wasn't really surprised. On the evening before the divorce goes before a judge her husband is murdered. Unfortunately as she stood to lose everything due to a pre nup agreement she is a prime suspect. She certainly doesn't take this lying down and goes about looking into things in order to find the murderer. A relationship appears to be developing between her and the dishy investigating detective although it doesn't reach a conclusion in this story. Which did disappoint me a little bit.
I like a strong heroine and this book provides this. I quickly worked out who the murderer might be and I was proved right at the end and the ending leads into future stories for some of the characters. I would have like a romance to have developed between the main character and the detective but as this is case one I assume this might happen in future books.
For my first attempt at reading a crime book I was pleased and it was an engaging and entertaining read which I would recommend. I would definitely read the next case in this series.
