Who turned out the lights?
This eShort is one of the best in the series in my opinion. Black nails the Twelfth Doctor, played by Peter Capaldi perfectly with a few scenes close to the end of the book following one of the small arcs of the eighth series currently on TV, the Doctor questioning himself. A solid murder mystery, there is quite a shocking twist in the middle of the story, along with the appearance of a familiat trait we have seen in Capaldi's Doctor already, his unwillingness to save everyone. Although bland in action, the emotion is certainly there, including quite a heart wrenching ending. Other than that this doesn't fail to deliver an accurate characterisation of Capaldi's incarnation. My only grudge with this book would be that there is no Clara in the story to push the Doctor forward. The story may sound bland being based mostly around coffee, but there is more in the cup of coffee than just plain coffee in terms of its impact on the story.
