These books comprise the tales of Dr Syn in the coastal Kent village of Dymchurch in days long passed. There is the parish work and life of Dr Christopher Syn, the tales of piracy on the high seas with Captain Clegg and of course the exploits of the smuggles of Romney Marsh led by the extraordinary and dramatic Scarecrow.

These tales are humorous, romantic, exciting and evocative and although written in an older style of English that we use now it is a usage that adds to their old world pleasure.

The chapters are not in chronological order so best to check that elsewhere to enjoy these tales as they were written.
