Like a box of chocolates ...
This is not a sequel to Bram Stoker's classic Gothic horror story, but a collection of short stories that his widow had published in 1914, two years after the author's death. The opening story is the one that gives its name to the collection, which was originally called 'Dracula's Guest and Other Weird Stories'.
What is good about this collection is the variety of supernatural phenomena and horrors that Stoker draws on for his stories. It is, to coin a phrase, like a box of chocolates: you never know what you are going to get with each new story. As an author, he shows great imagination and skill in creating chilling situations. I approached each story with interest and anticipation as to where it would take me, and I was more often rewarded than disappointed.
