Dreams

Waiting for the Tree

I cannot tell you about the future
or what it might someday, become.
I can only live life in the present
recounting and doing what must be done.
For to look at tomorrow and treasure
what might never come to pass or be
is like planting my seedlings in the ground
and then waiting, hopefully, for the tree.
