But Arminius – devious, fearless – is burning for revenge of his own.
Charismatic as ever, he raises another large tribal army, which will harry the Romans the length and breadth of the land.
Soon Tullus finds himself in a cauldron of bloodshed, treachery and danger.

Another thumping read
Ben Kane concludes his eagle trilogy with this thoroughly well researched and excellently paced book. One of the many skills of the author is to really invest you in the fate of each of the characters and over the series the participants have really developed so that you want to continue reading to find out what happens to them next.
As ever with a Ben Kane book the battle scenes are brilliant written and each side of the conflict is explored in great detail. You get a real feeling for the authors passion for the subject matter and characters in the concluding chapters of the book.
Buy it and you will not be disappointed.
