Wonderful from the opening chapter
My 3rd or 4th reading of this magnificent story. Steinbeck’s best in my estimation. Told in the way Only Steinbeck can. Wonderful.
This is more than a book- it’s a universe
Books like this are not often written today. Everyone’s must - a journey with compassion through the human soul.
East of Eden
The World is in this book. Every human frailty, every human triumph. This is the fourth or fifth time I have read it, and I wondered whether it would have anything left to give. I think it affected me more thus time than any other. Steinbeck encapsulates the human spirit in all its glory and desolation. A glorious writer and an awe inspiring novel.
