Eliminating Fear with Psalm 91

Ironic as it may seem, there is a Chinese curse that goes something like this, “May you live in interesting times. Well, without a doubt, we are in a very thought-provoking period of history. Not only is the entire planet being ravaged by Covid-19, much of the world has shut down in an effort to bring the contagion under control. As a result of this, unemployment has skyrocketed, small businesses have been forced to close, and many persons are shut up in their homes seemingly under house arrest. Between the threat to our health and wellbeing, and the resulting economic disaster unfolding before our eyes, there is considerable cause for fear in those around us. In many cases this fear is compounded by the isolation that comes with having to remain isolated at home and is producing severe depression in countless persons. Many feel helpless at this time. While, like everyone else, I have no control over these events, I find comfort in knowing God’s hand is directing history, and He is intimately aware of my circumstance. Let me be frank, I am a follower of Jesus Christ and I believe the scriptures are true. This gives me confidence in what I have written. The following study is something God placed on my heart to share with others. It is neither a book nor a booklet, rather, perhaps a sermon meant to help in such a time as this. I hope it will be encouraging and spur readers to seek a deeper relationship with the Lord.
