Two people find love—and danger—when they try to heal a brokenhearted dog in this romantic suspense novel.
HONOR, LOYALTY, LOVE
David Cruz is good at two things: war and training dogs. The ex-soldier's toughest case is Atlas, a Belgian Malinois whose handler died in combat. Nobody at Hope's Crossing kennel can break through the animal's grief. That is, until dog whisperer Evelyn Jones walks into the facility ... and into Atlas's heart. David hates to admit that the curvy blonde's mesmerizing effect isn't limited to canines. But when Lyn's work with Atlas puts her in danger, David will do anything to protect her.
Lyn realizes that David's own battle scars make him uniquely qualified for his job as a trainer. Tough as nails yet gentle when it counts, he's gotten closer to Atlas than anyone else—and he's willing to put his hard-wired suspicion aside to let her do the same. But someone desperate enough to kill doesn't want Lyn working with Atlas. Now only teamwork, trust, and courage can save two troubled hearts and the dog who loves them both ...

I'm in love with David...and Atlas
Hope’s Crossing Kennel is a training facility run by three ex-servicemen. They are liked by their love of dogs and all served together at one time or another. They provide dogs to the armed services, police and other law enforcement agencies and all provide dog training for civilians.
David Cruz was the initial trainer for Atlas, a military working dog, whose handler died in service. After getting a nutty text from the handler before his death, David suspects something else is going on. But for now he's concentrating in getting Atlas back in shape. When a prissy civilian dog whisperer arrives on his doorstep he's not very enthused but he'll take any help he can get.
Evelyn is a successful dog psychologist. She saw Atlas' story in the newspaper and knew she could help. She did something she never thought she would, she asked her Naval Captain stepfather for help, but it will be worth it to get Atlas back in shape. She never figured on an attraction to the uber sexy dog trainer!!
After only one day on the job Lyn is attacked and David comes to the rescue. Until they know what's going on she is going to live on the compound with him and the other trainers.
This was a fast paced romantic suspense with very lovable characters. Evelyn (Lyn) comes across as frosty at first but that's just her armour. David is caring of his animals but not quite sure of the human variety! With great supporting characters, who I'm sure will get their own books eventually) this was a well rounded plot with snappy dialogue and interesting storyline. Atlas is most definately the star of the show, I want my own Malinois!!!!!
