Publisher Description
She thinks she’s fooled me. But I’ve known all along.
Almost.
Lily is hiding something, a secret so big, she came out of a year-long coma and her first instinct was to lie.
Who does that? Someone who is afraid. No—not afraid.
Terrified. And it’s my job to take that fear away.
My partner and I have spent countless man-hours hunting down the cold-blooded killer who did this to her. Meanwhile, Lily’s spent her waking hours recovering. Getting stronger. Getting smarter.
Staying beautiful.
Never get involved emotionally. That’s my dictate. Never get attached.
When you realize you’re caught in a triangle, it turns out there is no exit.
Crossing a line is easy. Holding a line takes strength.
Lily’s shooter knows that she’s my weakness.
And he’s about to exploit that by breaking a line and escaping, claiming a hostage in the process.
One I have to get back.
No matter what it takes.
Customer Reviews
Chasing the truth.
If there’s one thing Meli raine knows how to do, it’s writing a suspenseful novel that will keep you on the edge of your seat, and with False Hope, book 2 in the ‘False’ series, she does just that. This time the story is written in Duff’s POV giving us that insight into his head that was missing from book 1. I much prefer books that have a dual POV but this at least lets us see how the man thinks and why he acts the way he does.
Duff is stoic, but so damn hot too, and it’s easy to see why Lily finds it hard to resist him. But with the continuing mysteries that surround them, that only sprout more secrets and conspiracies, it’s a battle to keep everything in place. It just makes you want to know. What’s at the heart of this and who is ultimately behind it all?
I guess we’ll find out when all is revealed with book 3, False Start.
Not the end....
Really enjoyed the first book but was very disappointed that it ended with so many loose ends and questions. So I purchased the second book only to be met with the same kind of ending. So after finishing two books still feel like I haven’t finished one!!!
Won’t be buying the next book as it might not have an ending!
Confusing
This is second book in series definitely not as good as first a lot of padding and quite confusing I skipped loads of pages then get to the end to find another book to complete the series well I’m not going to bother I think it’s a bit cheeky to have one story over three books and expensive
