These enjoyable stories are all connected by the charity event at the Frost Fair and some are connected by being friends. They are all sweet romances
Melting Matilda by Jude Knight
Charles, Earl of Hamner has met Matilda Grenford the year previously and had shared a kiss. Matilda had a checkered background but is now the ward of the Duchess of Haverford. Aldridge, the Marquess, is very protective of her and her sisters. Charles, originally, was of the opinion that he needed someone of pure bloodlines for his wife, he and not thought of marrying for love. He has since had a change of heart and is pursuing the woman he couldn’t forget, Matilda. Could Matilda trust him again? There is also a secondary event concerning her sister, Jessica. This was an engaging tale.
My One True Love by Rue Allyn
Lord Trevor, Earl of Trehallow is back from the war, after an absence of three years. During this time something has happened to his childhood friend, Mary Percival (Percy). Percy has changed from an outgoing lively person into someone who is content to be in the background. Trevor has always been attracted to Percy but knew that her father wouldn’t accept him. This was an entertaining read.
Lord Ethan’s Courage by Caroline Warfield
I did enjoy this story very much, not only were there likeable main characters but a number of interesting secondary characters and I shall be interested to read their stories. Flora was a determined and impulsive young lady but she always had others best interests at heart. Ethan has suffered greatly during the war, both physically and mentally. Flora was committed to helping him overcome his battles.
A Second Chance at Love by Sherry Ewing
Viscount Digby has left Lady Caroline two years ago. She was every upset when he left. Now he has returned and hopes Lady Caroline will forgive him. However, there is another unwanted suitor to determined to spoil his plans. This has a few dangerous moments and was an enjoyable read.
The Umbrella Chronicles by Amy Quinton
This was an amusing account of a matching amazing aunt and a sister trying to match the duke with a friend. Chester, Duke of Eastly, prefers to stay at home, he has scars and is referred to as the beast. Miss Artemis Synclaire is so suited to Chester and wasn’t afraid to stand up to him. They had some engaging exchanges. However, would Chester be able to overcome his reluctance to go into society to fight for Artemis?
