Simply beautiful
The past few months, I’ve found it particularly difficult to get truly gripped by a novel. ‘Flight’ is a game changer. I read the whole novel in one sitting, not taking my eyes off the text in fear id miss out on the story. The characters are relatable, interesting and fresh: a nice change on a lot of YA novels. This novel is almost reminiscent of the twilight series, which is a in the most positive sense. If I could thank the author directly I would. It was nice to be transported to a new world again. Afraid of spoiling the novel for you, I highly recommend giving this book a go, I promise you’ll be as hooked as I was!
Half-baked, nonsensical, and a little creepy…
Can’t even describe how half-baked and nonsensical this book is.
YA is one of my favourite genres, and when this book popped up I was intrigued. Upon starting it, it was a little slow burner, but quickly ramped up the pace to tell you the ‘supernatural twist’ which the main character just accepts immediately?!?
Some of the secondary characters felt a bit pointless and vague, the action scenes left me feeling less immersed than confused.
I simply had to keep reading just to see how wild the story would get because I could not understand the main characters intentions, feelings, or responses to her situation. It was like every ‘obstacle’ she came up against, someone would dismiss her very legitimate questions, and she would just be ok with it.
Don’t even get me started on the ending, not even remotely romantic, borderline grooming vibes to it.
Absolutely wild… I really wish the author had taken a little more time to flesh this out, as its not the worst story out there, but it’s incredibly short and could do with a bit more detail in a lot of places. All I can say is, I hope the sequels are better!
