Something strange lurking in the sea….

When a routine sampling of marine life in the bay turns up a new species of seaweed, Dr. Ruth is ecstatic at the find.

However, excitement quickly turns to concern when the unusual seaweed begins showing characteristics no one has ever seen before and shouldn't exist...

With no other course of action, Dr. Ruth is left to call in her superiors, but not before her young assistant goes back to search for answers by himself and discovers something even more terrifying than they could ever have imagined.
