BOOK THREE OF THE ILLBORN SAGA
ONLY ONE CAN CLAIM THE POWER.
After the four Illborn have remembered their recurring dream in full, each of them must decide what they are going to do with their newfound knowledge.
On the island of Abass, Arion and Leanna must both choose between a return to Angall, and a dangerous journey into the war-torn Holy Land. In Andar, as Allana continues her ascent to power, she begins a deadly game of cat and mouse with Aiduel’s Guards and the Archlaw. And in Bergen, Corin must decide whether he needs to leave his homeland to pursue and to kill the others of his kind.
As their powers continue to grow, will fate draw the four together? And if so, are the dire prophecies of the Illborn destined to come true?
Gatebound is the thrilling third and penultimate instalment of The Illborn Saga, the acclaimed epic fantasy series by Daniel T. Jackson.

An exceptional read!
I’ve been a big fan of Daniel since I read his first book, Illborn, some years ago and have been lucky enough to be given an ARC copy of his 2nd and 3rd books in the series.
I can honestly say that his writing goes from strength to strength and I’m finding myself completely engrossed in the world, characters, plot and lore of the world of Illborn.
Gatebound continues the story of our four main characters from where they left off in Aiduel’s Sin however as characters they have grown so much since the beginning of their journey. The naivety that the characters first had has gone and what we have now are four characters who are products of their experiences. Each character is centrally flawed which adds a rawness to them. Sometimes fantasy characters can be cliché or too polished but the characters here are raw and real. The actions of the characters are questionable at times and as a reader you don’t always side with them. I found myself changing my loyalties between them as time went on and that’s what makes Daniel’s writing so fantastic. He’s capable of drawing out such strong emotions towards the characters and each one of them is completely brilliant.
Sometimes with fantasy trilogies or quadrilogies the middle books can feel like space fillers or spare parts but I actually feel that Daniels books just get better and improve which each new entry into the series. The ending of the third book sets up what I can only imagine is going to be a superb ending for the series and I truly can’t wait to read the final entry. A true five star read!
