**Don't miss John Sandford's brand-new thriller Ocean Prey – out now**
A Lucas Davenport thriller by internationally bestselling novelist John Sandford
They call them Travelers. They move from city to city, panhandling, committing no crimes - they just like to stay on the move. And now somebody is killing them.
Lucas Davenport's adopted daughter, Letty, is home from college when she gets a phone call from a woman Traveler she'd befriended in San Francisco. The woman thinks somebody's killing her friends, she's afraid she knows who it is, and now her male companion has gone missing. She's hiding out in North Dakota, and she doesn't know what to do.
Letty tells Lucas she's going to get her, and, though he suspects Letty's getting played, he volunteers to go with her. When he hears the woman's story, though, he begins to think there's something in it. Little does he know. In the days to come, he will embark upon an odyssey through a subculture unlike any he has ever seen, a trip that will not only put the two of them in danger-but just may change the course of his life.

APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
In John Sandford’s 25th Lucas Davenport thriller, a bloodthirsty fugitive named Pilate and his modern-day Manson family cult go on a murderous tear. We’re dropped into the action with a pair of Travellers—off-the-grid youth getting by through busking and handouts—who are Pilate’s perfect prey. As we tear through the fast-paced, violent plot, we cross state lines and attend bacchanalian Juggalo gatherings. All the while, shrewd lone-wolf crime investigator Davenport (aided by his teen daughter Letty) races to catch up to the group before they can kill again.
At the start of bestseller Sandford s engrossing 25th thriller featuring Lucas Davenport of the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (after 2014 s Field of Prey), Lucas s daughter, Letty, a Stanford student, offers to buy a meal for young buskers Skye and Henry in San Francisco s Union Square. Over hamburgers at McDonald s, Skye tells Letty about an evil character called Pilot (or Pilate) and his disciples, who peddle dope and flesh and steal for him and, perhaps, even kill for him. Pilate and his crew are Juggalos, fanatical fans of the Insane Clown Posse, and they travel around the country following the band. Skye and Henry later run into them in Sturgis, S.D., with disastrous results. When Skye calls Letty for help, Lucas gets involved. Pilate s gang, 19 strong ( think the Manson gang, but worse ), leaves a trail of violence across Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Michigan, with Lucas and various local forces trying to corral them. Sandford handles the drawn-out action with his usual artful combination of suspense and humor.
