Publisher Description
When the bestselling video game Gears of War was released in late 2006, it quickly became the fastest selling original Xbox title ever, and has since gone on to sell more than five million copies, received more than fifty industry awards, and has garnered high praise from critics and fans alike. And the first novel in the series was released at the end of 2008, to coincide with the release of the second Gears of War video game.
With this terrific track record to build on, this is the third tie-in novel to be based on the Gears of War franchise. The massive Gears of War fan-base will be eager to see more in this series of original novels.

Thanks Karen!
I have enjoyed all your Gears of War books, you breathe real life into the characters introduced to us in games. I was drawn into this story yet again by fantastically timed revelations (or promises of them anyway!) and the background of the people who have been fighting to survive the end of their world for 15 years.
If this IS your last book in the 'Gears' series then that is a shame, but I know you will be continuing with the 'Halo' series....can't wait!!
A great end to the series
At long last this last book bridges the enormous gap from Gears of War 2 to the third game. This long epilogue gives rise to the Lambent problem as we know it and explains how Delta Squad come to end up as Stranded on the ship Sovereign.
I love how the characters and their relationships have been focused on in all these books, giving them much more depth than the games could give us as they carry their trauma and still fight for the hope of another tomorrow.
My only gripe with these books as a whole is, why did we never get any chapters dedicated to Queen Myrrah and the remnants of the Locust? Could have been many parallels between the Humans and the Locust trying to stay alive in a world that’s collapsing around them.
The flashback scenes are always a nice touch though!
Amazing!
This book is the best so far! Great build up gears of war 3
