Going Down Easy is a compelling office romance between a sexy billionaire and his PA
Going Down Easy is a compelling, touching, emotional and a little bit of an inspiring read using the theme of an office romance between a sexy billionaire and his PA with various mental health issues at the focal point. As someone who has lived with Depression for over 14 years and having seen my sister live with bi-polar I applaud the sensitivity and realistic way in which mental health is portrayed by the author and give her huge credit for the way she captured the actions and emotions of it not only on the person themselves but on others around them.
Told through dual points of views, the two main characters, Lexie and Kaden, are very likeable characters who capture the readers attention from the off with their personal struggles in life. The chemistry between Lexie and Kaden is definitely clear to see and occurs fairly quickly but it does work well. There are a few steamy scenes between the pair that will leave you needing to cool down after their unstoppable attraction.
Going Down Easy is well written with an easy flow and steady pace to the book. It wasn’t a a typical arrogant billionaire romance as I expected and it definitely pulls at your heartstrings at times. While there is plenty of drama in other areas, the romance side of the book was fairly drama free (except in one part) and very sweet, in a not too sweet way though. Yes, I would say it was little predictable with a couple of situations that could be seen coming for a while but there was still enough unknowns regarding the situations that it wasn’t boring to read how it all unfolded, hence the reason it still gets 5 stars from me. The epilogue and HEA was such a sweet ending to making this a true standalone read.
I have a couple of books by Carly Phillips on my to-be-read list but this is the first book I have actually gotten around to reading but I will definitely be taking the time to read some of those books on my Kindle now. Definitely recommend you give this book a read.
