Good Husbandry: A Short Story

There was a time, not long ago, when women were considered to be property - chattel for men to barter and trade for - just as though they were animals in theirs flocks and herds.

Husbandry is the scientific control and management of crops and domestic animals. When a bloodline of animals becomes corrupt or starts to fail, bringing in new genetic material can breathe new life to a herd.

This is a stand along story about a struggle between modern beliefs and sensibilities and old practices of faith and family.
