Strangers living worlds apart.
Strangers with nothing in common.
But it wasn't always that way...
Kerry Hayes is single mum, living on a tough south London estate. She provides for her son by cleaning houses she could never afford. Taken into care as a child, Kerry cannot forget her past.
Noah Martineau is a successful barrister with a beautiful wife, daughter and home in fashionable Primrose Hill. Adopted as a young child, Noah never looks back.
When Kerry contacts Noah, the sibling she lost on the day they were torn apart as children, she sets in motion a chain of events that will change both of their lives forever.
By turns funny and moving, Half a World Away is a story that will stay with you long after you read its final page.

APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
Mike Gayle is proving himself a master at penning beautifully realised—and wonderfully flawed—characters. Half a World Away brings together two siblings separated at birth and now complete strangers living in the same city. Kerry is a survivor—she went through care as a child and now cleans houses to support her young son. Her brother, Noah, was adopted into a affluent family. Now a successful lawyer, Noah has a gorgeous wife and daughter and a stylish house. While Kerry and Noah are such different characters, Gayle’s intricate portraits make them both feel like old, cherished friends. His tale delicately unfurls into an unforgettable, overwhelmingly emotional family saga—one that takes in class, race and social politics.

Emotional rollercoaster
Happiness, family, love and heartbreak. Feeling joy one minute and in tears the next. A lovely story of a family reuniting after years of been broken apart.
Another wonderful book
A tale of love, courage and strength told through the words of some of the most genuine characters I have encountered in a novel.
Their story is both heartbreaking and uplifting at the same time, with powerful and grounding messages.
Thank you to the author, for yet another wonderful book.
