Scottie and Stanley have spent half their lives driving each other crazy.

As kids, they were enemies who never missed a chance to tease or get under each other's skin. Then somewhere between scraped knees, shared summers, and growing up side by side, the lines blurred. The bickering never stopped, but beneath every argument was one thing neither of them could outrun: each other.

No one knows Scottie the way Stanley does. He can make her laugh after her worst outbursts and sees the girl hiding behind all the anger she can't explain. And no one knows Stanley like Scottie. She sees past his nonstop talking and restless energy to the boy who loves with everything he has, even when he's convinced he'll always be too much.

As Scottie's emotions become harder to control, she starts believing the boy she has always loved is better off without her. Stanley's ADHD has spent years convincing him he's too loud, and too impossible to love the way Scottie deserves.

So they keep falling into the same rhythm. They fight then laugh, always finding their way back to each other every single time.

But Scottie's health continues to spiral without explanation, and every new doctor's appointment leaves her with more questions than answers. And while she's terrified she'll become someone Stanley deserves to run from, Stanley can't shake the feeling that he'll never be enough to stay.

But deep down, they know one thing: even with both their heads on fire, they're each other's calm in the chaos.
