"The book that got me into hockey romance." —NPR's Weekend Edition
Nothing interferes with pro hockey star Shane Hollander’s game.
Now that he’s captain of the Montreal Voyageurs, he won’t let anything jeopardize that—definitely not the sexy rival he loves to hate.
Boston Bears captain Ilya Rozanov is everything Shane’s not. The self-proclaimed king of the ice, he’s as cocky as he is talented. No one can beat him—except Shane. Publicly, they’re enemies. Privately, they can’t stop touching each other.
The smart thing to do? Walk away, once a few secret hookups turn into a struggle to keep their relationship out of the press. The truth could ruin them both. But for Shane and Ilya, secrecy is soon no longer an option…

APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
A smouldering connection between two rivals erupts into a blazing forbidden romance in Rachel Reid’s heart-pounding pro-hockey rom-com. As captains of their respective teams, Shane and Ilya are each other’s fiercest competitors, both on the ice and in the public eye. But that just makes their electrifying attraction to each other all the more impossible. We loved the way this novel tweaks the typical enemies-to-lovers format, replacing the trope’s usual hatred with a searing professional rivalry that fills Shane and Ilya with explosive frustration and adoring awe—both of which pave the way for knee-buckling steaminess after the buzzer. But as red-hot as it is for two supposed adversaries to hook up in secret, a yearning for tenderness begins quietly underscoring their rivals-with-benefits arrangement, forcing them both to confront what they really want. This is an irresistible read.

Just amazing
I watched the series before reading and to be perfectly honest, i think that was the right decision. Yes, the series did miss out bits from the book, but that made it so much better reading these scenes as they were brand new. You really get to see the inner workings of the characters brain and you get to see underneath Ilya’s facade, seeing his personal thoughts about Shane was just so fascinating and just getting to witness that softer side of him. This book is genuinely amazing and i am so fussy with books especially romance books, but this blew my expectations out the water as it is just so much better, while there is spicy scenes and quite a few, its just such a well written and enjoyable book to read and i will be reading the entire series, and Rachel Reid will forever be on my watchlist of authors and i will be paying more attention to her as an author cause from 1 book i already know she is brilliant.
Easy and addictive read
